So there's this thing called Oktoberfest here; I'm pretty sure you've heard of it. Lots of beer and music and dancing and general carousing. It's not as big here as it is in Munich, all the way across the country, but there are still beer festivals taking place, the weekly wine festival (the Mosel valley region about a half hour away is famous for its riesling) and in Tübingen yesterday, there was a giant rubber duck race. But I'm getting away from myself.
There's also a big event in the knitting/crochet community called "socktoberfest." Basically you make a bunch of socks or knit along with a bunch of other people. So a few minutes ago one of the blogs I read mentioned "Blogtoberfest" or predictively, writing a blog post for every day of October. I figure...I need to start writing more anyway, why not push myself to do this? I have a big trip back to the States coming up next week and the rest of the month I can catch up on my weekends in Düsseldorf, Berlin, and Munich.
I think I'll divide them between this blog and my other one though. I can't imagine that you'll find all this knitting I'm doing particularly exciting if you don't knit yourself.
